Rick’s Record: Fighting for Those Who Fight for Us on the Front Lines

Proven leader, dedicated public servant, and military veteran running for PA’s 18th Congressional District

CANONSBURG, Pa. – A distinguished military veteran himself, Rick Saccone understands the sacrifice our service members and their families make while protecting us here at home. Saccone has fought for those who fight for us in the state legislature, and will continue to ensure members of our military and veterans receive the care they deserve as Pennsylvania 18's representative in the United States Congress.

During his time in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Saccone introduced a bipartisan bill, the “Stolen Valor Act,” that criminalizes the act of forging military service (or valor) in order to obtain benefits. Saccone’s efforts were signed into law by the Governor in June of 2017. Since taking office, Rick has championed a series of other important issues for veterans including the creation of two new military decorations. He is able to further provide direction and leadership on these important issues through his current service on the Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee.

“Our service members deserve the utmost honor and respect,” said Rick Saccone. “I am passionate about ensuring proper care and appreciation for those who put their lives on the line every day to keep Americans safe. As your representative, I will continue to fight for our men and women in uniform, our veterans and their families.”

Saccone served as a counter-intelligence officer for the U.S. Air Force, defending the United States against espionage. Saccone also served on the counter-terror task force for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea. Rick also served as a senior counter-intelligence agent in Iraq, identifying, capturing and interrogating insurgents.
